About Me

My name is Agnieszka Mirosława Róża, and I am the founder of Agnes Mira Rosa.

My brand name comes from my three given names. In Poland, we often have three names, and I wanted to bring them together in something personal and meaningful. Agnes Mira Rosa was born in 2009, in the attic of my apartment in central London. The idea came from my close friend Nana during one very special evening. I still remember it clearly — it felt simple and right from the very beginning.

I later changed "Rose" to "Rosa" because I love Spain. The word feels warmer, softer, and more full of light.

I was born on 14 February 1984 in Rzeszów, Poland. From a very young age I was always drawing — together with my mother and grandmother. I drew princesses, dresses, and fairy-tale women. That world stayed with me and never left.

I grew up loving fairy tales, especially Hans Christian Andersen. Stories like The Snow Queen and Thumbelina shaped my imagination and the way I see beauty. They were not just stories — they were emotions and images.

At the age of 12, I discovered Polish literature and poetic books. One of the most important books in my life became Pan Tadeusz. Even then, what fascinated me most were the costumes, dresses, and the world of women inside the story.

In 1998, when I was 14, I saw Titanic for the first time. That moment stayed with me forever. I became obsessed with the dresses, fabrics, and emotion of the film. I drew Kate Winslet constantly — her images were everywhere in my room.

In 1999, after finishing primary school, I already knew I was not meant for a traditional path. I did not want to become a doctor, teacher, or anything like that. I knew I was an artist. I chose a fashion and tailoring school, where I studied garment construction for five years.

During my studies, I did internships in a local theatre. Sewing costumes backstage at 17 years old was one of the most important experiences of my life. I learned respect for craft, patience, precision, and the true meaning of creation. We worked on artistic productions inspired by Edith Piaf.

After finishing school, I planned to study fashion design in Kraków, but I quickly felt the system was too slow for me.

In 2004, at the age of 20, I left Poland and moved to London with a one-way ticket. My mother thought I was crazy.

Only a few weeks after arriving, I found work in a fashion house. I started from the very beginning — simple studio work — and slowly moved forward. Over the years, I worked with many fashion houses and designers, including Alexander McQueen and Burberry.

In 2009, after years of experience, I felt I wanted to create something of my own. Something personal and honest. That is when the idea of Agnes Mira Rosa truly began.

In 2011, I created my first collection — The Flower Collection. It became a very important moment for me. I sent my work to fashion magazines such as Vogue, and some of my pieces were selected for international photo shoots.

Since then, I have continued to work in fashion, costumes, and creative projects. I have had the opportunity to work with artists such as Zara Larsson for stage costumes.

And still, the most important thing has never changed.

I am simply someone who creates. With emotion, memory, and love for detail.

Today I continue to work, learn, and grow. And I feel this is only the beginning.
